LBC welcomes Jared Knight as our new Worship Leader along with his wife, Chirstie, and two children, Anna Grace, and Brayden.
What do you do to relax and find balance in your life?
I enjoy traveling with my family, especially to the mountains!
In your recent reading, what insights or quotes have you found most meaningful?
The most meaningful books I have read are the ones that have driven me to The Book, God’s Holy Word, the Bible. “The Pusuit of God,” by A.W. Tozer has been such a book to me! This is one of my favorite sections:
It is important that we get still to wait on God. And it is best that we get alone, preferably with our Bible outspread before us. Then if we will we may draw near to God and begin to hear Him speak to us in our hearts. I think for the average person this progression will be something like this: First a sound as of a Presence walking in the garden. Then a Voice, more intelligible, but still far from clear. Then the happy moment when the Spirit begins to illuminate the Scriptures, and that which had been only a sound, or at best a voice, now becomes an intelligible word, warm and intimate and clear as the word of a dear friend. Then will come life and light, and best of all, ability to see and rest in and embrace Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of All.
What is your favorite thing about Leoma Baptist Church?
While we haven’t been here long, we already feel like we’re among family and life-long friends! The hearts of the people at LBC are incredible. There is a genuine desire to love God and love people, the very things Jesus taught as most important!
What’s playing on your ipod/cd player?
Vertical Church Band, Crowder, Lauren Daigle, All Sons and Daughters, Matt Papa, Rend Collective, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, I Am They, Shane and Shane, Casting Crowns… I’m a worship leader, this list could go on and on…. and on… 🙂
If given the choice, the one thing you would never taste again would be …
Definitely shampoo. It tastes nothing like it smells.
What is the most memorable quote you have heard or read recently?
“For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” -Hebrews 8:12
What makes you laugh?
My kids. I’m pretty sure their life mission is to make me laugh!
Are you a morning or night person?
That depends on which person I was on the previous night or morning. I don’t function well if I try to be both!
What is your favorite movie?
I have young kids, so I mostly watch kids movies. Big Hero 6 is near the top of my list! Cars is good too.
What was your favorite book you read as a child?
Does the back of a cereal box count? I wasn’t much of a reader during my childhood. Whenever we had book fairs I would always buy those 3D picture books where you had to stare at some abstract picture like you were looking at something far away until the picture came into focus. I got pretty good at those.
Desk: Messy or organized?
Depends on the day. I try to keep my desk organized, but I usually have things left out on it. I like to consider my desk as one big to-do list. My list is complete when my desk is empty.
